Whether it is suitable for MS mobile phase depends on your mass spectrometry sensitivity and acquisition mode. If Q-TOF or high-resolution is used for the identification of medicinal ingredients, background PEG, plasticizers, etc. can easily raise the baseline in TIC, and HPLC grade acetonitrile may not be able to suppress every batch. It is recommended to first perform a mobile phase blank when preparing MS mobile phase: without adding a column, follow a 30 minute gradient of A/B, and observe the background ion intensity at m/z 100-1000. If the background is high or periodic cluster peaks appear, use this batch with caution. Acetonitrile baseline drift is not only related to solvents, but also to online degassing, column temperature, and pipeline contamination. Don't just blame the reagents. Aladdin can be used as a candidate, but the batch number, acceptance data, and blank spectrum will be retained as a supplier qualification judgment; If two consecutive batches fail, consider switching to LC-MS grade or imported brand.

I have done UV low wavelength and single quadrupole liquid chromatography on Aladdin HPLC grade acetonitrile, and baseline drift is not uncommon, but it is done in batches. For the fingerprint spectrum of medicinal herbs, if the mobile phase follows a blank gradient at 210-230 nm, it is recommended to first focus on the three traces at 254, 230, and 210 nm. If there is a significant baseline drift or regular bulging of the blank gradient, it is necessary to consider changing batches. It is not recommended to use MS mobile phase directly with regular HPLC grade for long-term use, unless you only use positive ions and have high concentrations; Negative ions or background ion clusters will be more prominent under full scan. I won't give a specific number for the price of 4L. The official website and sales quotation may change with the promotion. I think it's cheaper than imported LC-MS grade, but don't stock up just because it's cheap. First, buy a small bottle with the same batch number to test the blank, sample labeling, and continuous injection, and then decide whether to switch.

In terms of batch stability, there are fluctuations between HPLC acetonitrile batches of Aladdin, and certain batches have had miscellaneous peaks at low wavelengths, but this does not mean that each batch has one. It is recommended to register the batch number after arrival, take 5-10 mL of 0.22 μm filter membrane and enter a blank gradient, record 210, 230, 254 nm and TIC background, and preferably compare with the previous batch of qualified batch numbers. Suppliers can request COA and UV cutoff data, but COA usually does not write low wavelength specific impurities. Your monthly consumption of 2-3 bottles is not large. It is recommended to take up to two bottles at a time with the same batch number to reduce the impact of cross-batch differences on the retention time and peak area of the fingerprint. I can't give an exact number on the price. The 4L pack is roughly in the low and medium price range. When asking for a price, ask if it includes tax, shipping costs, and the expiration date of the recent batch.
